Who might need therapy???

Suppose you are a psychologist and two 15 year olds come to you for advice.

Joe says God has personally called him to live the rest of his life serving God and told Joe he must never have any sexual thoughts whatsoever, never be physically attracted to any male or female, never fall in love, believe women are a temptation to rightiousness, never desire to have children as that would be to slight God.

Jim says he is physically attracted to another boy and desires to have sexual contact with him and has thought of his friend while engaged in personal sexual activity.

Which of the two boys--Joe or Jim--would you think was in danger of developing a "personality disorder?"

  1. Finally you write on a topic on which you have intimate personal knowledge: personality disorders.

Perhaps, in the interest of full disclosure, you would care to begin by dissecting your own rather than those of Joe and Jim?

    I won't hold my breath.

  2. Hi, "mr Mole." Why don't you answer the question I posed. Probably afraid of the priests you worship.

  3. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fourth edition, DSM IV-TR, a widely used manual for diagnosing mental disorders, defines narcissistic personality disorder (in Axis II Cluster B) as:[6]

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
has a grandiose sense of self-importance
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love (megalomania)
believes they are "special" and can only be understood by, or should associate with, people (or institutions) who are also "special" or of high status
    requires excessive admiration
    has a sense of entitlement
    is interpersonally exploitative
    lacks empathy
is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

  4. Hi, "Mole". I wish you wouldn't use my blog to describe yourself. Of course, I know each of the traits you quote fits exactly a fanatic catholic like you. You might spend sometime worshipping God/Christ rather than salivating every time you see a priest, or especially a bishop.(Somehow I think you have a weird relative that just went into the priesthood not too long ago. Could be wrong about the weird brother, or whatever.

You might lay off that gin in your Lourdes water:)

  5. Could be, Mark, that you're witnessing an instance of projection on the part of a former lorry driver.

  6. Mahitabel,I really wasn't refering to MP. I was refering to a Roman Catholic blogger who pretends to be 'open minded' but is hopelessly reactionary.

As to MP, his sermons ar okay but his philosophical speculations are truly "mad."

  7. At least I only have to cope to one of me being mad. It must be hell being you, Jack, and having to cope with multiple mad personalities.

  8. O, MP. You have been in an asylum for the mentally ill. Does England allow "shock" treatment.Sure, I have family and friends, and I don't want them exposed to a person with your mental illness. Do you have any family and friends other than your 'blog' community?
You have met several of my family and friends, but I don't want to expose them further to a mentally unstable 'priest'. No wonder your superiors think little of you.

  9. That's simply not enough information to make a sound judgment. If a psychologist were to do so based simply on the outline you've given they should likely rethink their career choice.

  10. Scott, checked your blog. Anyone who 'cares' for animals has got to be on the right track.

As to MP, I'm amazed that people can't see through him. Crawling for pity, then crawling for money.

Sure I've read his sermons---heard the same points many times. And his attacks on 'great' music---making snide remarks on Mozart and the greats. Shows he is a uneducated boor.

    You are SO black.

  12. Hey, to each his own. i find MP to be a great deal of fun more often than not. Many of my non-Christian friends find him refreshing and posts on his blog have started some interesting conversations between us on various religious topics. They seem much more open to discussions about faith after i've pointed them in the direction of Fr. Hagger's blog than they have been previously.

Not sure why there's an apparent mutual vendetta between you guys, but we Anglicans are used to tempests in teapots.

  13. Scott, I am Catholic. Was Anglican for most of my life.

MP never really discusses anything. Only those who shower him with praise are allowed on the blog. MP and his 'commumity treat truth rather lightly. If you are interested I'll be glad to tell you the real story of MP and the gang.

  14. Hey, Scott, make sure that "Mark" here also tells you the truth about how he lurked around the blogs of MadPriest's readers - and when he did go to MadPriest's blog, was asking all kinds of really weird sexual questions.

  15. Scott, see what I mean. I did send two young men to MP blog.

They ask three times if it was alright to ask a couple of question which were:

What did the MP folks think of a Catholic marrying a Unitarian and

What is the Anglican toward masturbation. The 19 year old did not use the "M" word but was embarrassed about using that word and instead used the term "touching yourself." They were met with incredible vile responses (president of small penis society; you have no right to be here; and on and on.) MP erased most of their responses. Why?

    ReplyDelete
  16. The young man who ask the masturbation question had been severly punished by his Baptist father for such, so I suggested in check with other religions.

Remember he was STRONGLY urged to submit his question.

  17. The pissing contest still seems a bit unnecessary to me. We obviously have very different experiences in blog land. Like i said, to each his own. God bless.

  18. Scott, possibly I'm wrong, but I think 'newcomers'might like to understand what's going on. Especially the plea for money and the overall ethics of the MP crowd. After all my family was fooled. Others might like to know.

  19. And I'd say MP's blog should be rated NC-17; not a place for a tender youth to cut his teeth on.

"Mark" here should have lurked for a while before just diving in like that. It is he who made the error, and it is he who cannot own up to that.

  20. Scott, I think you can see how the 'MP' community can't accept the truth. I believe I said why I directed the young men to me. After all a blog that claims "God, sex, and rock and roll" might be appealing to younger people.

And, the COVERUP is even greater. The young men ask AT LEAST 3 times if they could ask a question about sex.

I think I can prove this from MP's blog, if he has not erased it.

So I'll just call MP and his 'community' predators. No, I don't think he and they molest kids. But they do try to attract young people to the sick site.

The last "anon" shows he's not reading the comments.

I'm kind of tired listening to the lies MP clones are offering. But I'll still be around.
