Sex and Abortion

We, as humans, often exaggerate or tell 'little white lies' with the best of intentions. We tell children if they play with matches they will burn the house down; or we, wisely, say not to talk to 'strangers' becuase they may harm you; we use to tell young boys if they 'played with themselves' they would go blind. And a thousand other examples could be given.

Now they Church as a very long and undisputed history of considering sex a 'bad' or dangerous thing. I am reading a biography of Thomas More, and this acclaimed and intelligent man thought sexual desires and practices were a very strong deterrent to loving God.

I believe the Church has never changed its anti-sex outlook, and as the guarrdian of peoples' morals still regards sex as bad, EXCEPT for the procreation of children. Yes in the last decades it has added the "unitive" principle, but this principle is ONLY active when the possibility of procreation is there. This, of course, involves the Church in some problems: What about the aged, what about the impotent, what about the infertile. And, most important what about the obvious desire of so many humans for the pleasure of sex. Well this can be covered through special arguments, family planning, for example, but the Church places before mankind the very clear dictum that all sex MUST have at least some possibility of producing a offspring. And so we find Aquinas saying that corsorting with a prostitute is superior to masturbation because at least procreation is possible.

It is very clear to me and others that the "right to life movement" is at base a "sex is dangerous" movement, a movement whose end result is to curb sexual activity. And this leads to such fallacies as the basic purpose of all sex is fertilization. Any orgasm outside the vagina is sinful. Indeed any sexual thought must be avoided, if possible. Any sperm penetrating an egg is to create a person.

I think the Church's ultimate goal and position is quite clear. Again, sex is bad outside its procreative aspect. And this is most clearly seen in the fact that ALL decision makers in the Church must be totally devoid of sexual activity and even sexual thoughts, if possible.

The argument put forth is that only by a total rejection of all sexual activity and thought makes one eligible for the closest contact with God.

This standard is not held in any other area of human life. Celibate doctors are no more devoted to their patients than married doctors, and so on through all human activites.

I have written many times about the Church's interest in celibacy. I do back away from one impression I may have made. The Church MAY be sincere in its view that the sexual drive is most dangerous. The celibate idea MAY NOT be simply self-serving to the all celibate masters of the Church.

The issue of abortion is very important. But to use it as a screen to hide a overwhelming belief in the dangers of sex is not acceptable to almost all, including Catholics, and keeps us from making the real case for sexual restraint and responsibility.

  1. Jack I and Christ know what it’s like to be ignored and it’s just not right cause deep down somewhere in my heart I know that you’re a good man. I hear ya! Do we need to go down that low vic?

Well what can I say except that it seems that your spirit and/or soul appears to want to dance to the limbo rock but I’ve been wrong before Jack and as a good Christian you know that we must forgive each other 7 times what?

Jack you’ve left the spiritual flood gates open on this post where even a crazy man would think twice and/or three time before making any comment. I hear ya! Ok! sinner vic, give it a try cause if any body can explain “IT” to me it’s you. You’re not trying to spiritually trap an old fool are you Jack by indirect flattery cause I do a pretty good job of that by myself!

    >And so we find Aquinas saying that consorting with a prostitute is superior to masturbation because at least procreation is possible.<

To that statement, sinner vic says that it depends on what time dimension you’re referring to. For example in 1977 the year and dimension that sinner vic was in at the time he quit real estate because he was offered a job selling human bodies instead of real land. This time around, he quit because these spiritual forces just did not offer him enough money. At the time sinner vic was working for Keith’s soul and/or spirit consortium who made the mistake of letting Victor in on their conversation. Victor was going for his broker’s licence and he was on his second course and to make a long story short, the land property course that Victor was taking was being held at the rectory of “The Holy Angels” where his former priest lived upstair. Victor also remembered that Saint Francis had told him that there were a lot of innocent, I mean ignorant people in this world so he wanted his opinion as to what he should do. To make another long, long story short, his former priest invited Victor to sit down and without saying a word Saint Francis told Victor what to do and sinner vic, me, myself and I listened and it only cost US thirteen days at a mental hospital. Go Figure!

Jack I don’t know Aquinas and if he’s saying that helping out a prostitute to find Jesus The Christ is superior to masturbation then which Angel of Our Heavenly Father could argue with that? As far as masturbation is considered just try for a split second to put yourself into god’s place. Just because your fingers can bate your mind with artificial ecstacy, could you possibly bring yourself to accept such a thing as being OK when you simply need to think it UP when you really do become a real god?

All I know is that two wrongs will never make One right and that God’s Thoughts are not our thoughts no matter how much we think they are.

We’re all searching for the truth Jack and nothing but the truth so please help US God. I suggest that we as good Catholics keep each other in honest check and don’t jump too fast to any conclusions until the Judgement Day.

If I don’t reply to you again Jack, it does not mean that I’m throwing a rock and then running away. I must go with the flow of what my heart and what my mind says to me at the time as One Unit of my Jesus..

Like Saint Anna would probably say,

    God Bless you Jack.

  3. Thank you for your sincere reply to another of my comments on your blog and without appearing to sound sarcastic and/or flogging a dead horse........ I hear you Jack so go on!

Hey don’t you be calling me a dead horse! And besides there’s a lot of dead horses who fought hard in the pass and they also have a right to hold their head UP High cause they were great and brave soldiers!

Victor, I don’t know what or where your UP to in spiritual life but if I chose not to follow you or for that matter if I care not to follow you also, I hope that you’ll respect my opinion as I do yours.

What more can I do but wish you L.U.C.K the kind of luck that only A Loving Usual Christian King can bring.

It’s my personality and I sure hope that you agree that it’s also my identity that is being created and no man as the right to mess around with “IT” no matter how holy they might think they are on whatever occasions.

Forgive me for being a little hard on you but some days it would appear to me that you do have it coming.

It was not me who placed you in a mental hospital on four occasions in the pass and I hope you understand and can accept that!

Before I close, I just want to say that I forgive you for having picked my brain and also for having taken a little piece of my heart with you.

Our Catholic Jesus did say that we must love one another and I’m sure that this statement should never change for US humans.

Forgive me again for saying that you certainly are not making it easy on any of US to love you!

Does that clear my comment Above for you Victor?

    Crystal Clear Jack!

    God Bless

    Peace!
